BORN HULL 1897. ONLY SON OF GEORGE THOMAS GREY (1865-1905) & EMILY CASH (1865-1956), OF 10, ADA TERRACE, SUTTON STREET, SPRING BANK, HULL (1911 CENSUS),  39, WELBECK STREET, HULL & 1, CHATSWORTH AVENUE, WELBECK STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). HE HAD THREE SISTERS, ADA, HILDA AND MINNIE.

HE WAS A BRASS FINISHER. DESCRIBED AS 5 FOOT, 5 INCHES TALL, 33-35 INCH CHEST, 120 LBS WEIGHT, GOOD PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT.

HE ENLISTED AT HULL ON 06/12/1915. SERVED WITH THE 1/6TH STAFFORDSHIRE REGIMENT. WOUNDED BY GAS SHELL ON 30/05/1918. DISCHARGED FROM BIRMINGHAM HOSPITAL, ON 9/7/1918. DIED OF PNEUMONIA, ON 30/11/1918, AGED 21. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS MOTHER EMILY.

BURIED AT HULL WESTERN CEMETERY (GRAVE/PLOT 313/30301).

HIS NAME WAS RECORDED ON THE WELBECK STREET WW1 ROLL OF HONOURM HULL.
