Born Beverley, 5 Feb 1896. Third son of Thomas Bowling Hall (1864-1931) and Harriet Hall (1874-1953), of 53, Beaver Road, Beverley (War Pension address).
Son of a canal boat captain. He had two brothers and three sisters.
He worked as a Keel man and canal boat mate. Described as 5 foot 9 inches tall, 37.5 inch chest, grey eyes, black hair, fresh complexion, scar on forehead,
Enlisted in the Royal Navy, on 4 Jan 1916. Served on HMS Victory. Discharged on 7 April 1919. Died of consumption, on 25 Mar 1920, aged 24.
