BORN BEVERLEY 1893. SON OF WILLIAM JAMES HAMILTON (1870-1929) & EMILY ALICE OWEN (1870-1898, ST MARKS STREET. HE HAD A BROTHER, STANLEY AND A SISTER, MABLE. HE WORKED AS A SAW AND OIL MILL LABOURER. DESCRIBED AS 5 FOOT, 3.5 INCHES TALL, 108 LBS WEIGHT, 33-35 INCH CHEST, GOOD PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT.

HIS STEP MOTHER, MARY E. LIVED AT 36 , CLEVELAND STREET, HULL AN 2, HOWE STREET, JENNING STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS).

POSTED TO FRANCE, ON 08/09/1914. HE SERVED IN THE 1ST EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT AND LABOUR CORPS. DISCHARGED WITH GUN SHOT WOUNDS TO THE FACE AND RIGHT ARM (50% DISABLED), ON 17/03/1919. DIED OF INFLUENZA, ON 05/10/1919, AGED 26. BURIED AT HULL HEDON ROAD CEMETERY.
