SON A RAILWAY GOODS GUARD. HE HAD TWO BROTHERS, JAMES AND JOSEPH BOTH KILLED IN THE WAR AND ONE SISTER, ELSIE. A RAILWAY WORKER. HE MARRIED HILDA GERTRUDE DAVIS AT HULL, IN 1917.
HE ENLISTED IN HULL. FORMERLY, PRIVATE, 316204 NORTHUMBERLAND FUSILIERS. TRANSFERRED TO THE 6TH ROYAL WEST KENTS. KILLED IN ACTION, ON 29/03/1918, AGED 26.
