HE ENLISTED AT HULL, ON 17/11/1914. SERVED WITH THE 13TH EYR (HULL PALS). TRAINED IN BEVERLEY AND RIPON. WENT TO EGYPT 29/12/1915. SENT TO FRANCE, ON 08/03/1916. KILLED IN ACTION, AT SERRE, ON 13/11/1916, AGED 28. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE RETURNED TO HIS MOTHER, GEORGINA.
HIS BROTHER PTE JOHN S HARGRAVE, 2ND DRAGOONS ALSO SERVED AND WAS DISCHARGED ON 28/10/1916.

THEIR SISTER GERTRUDE ALSO LOST HER HUSBAND HENRY LOW WHO DIED ON THE TRAWLER ‘OTHELLO II’ , ON 31/10/1915. SHE LIVED AT EDINBURGH STREET, HULL.
