Harper, Richard Henry

Born Hornsea, 1886. Son of William Harper (1852-1907) and Sarah Ann Goff (1862-1888). His mother died when he was two. He worked as a Fish Dealer. Described as 5 foot, 8,5 inches tall, 35-37 inch chest.

He married Florrie Stevens (1887-1974), on 12/11/1905, at Wilmington, Hull, aged 19. Husband of Florrie Harper, of 57, Kent Street, Hull (1911 Census) and 48, Beeton Street, Holderness Road, Hull (War Pension address). They had six children, (five girls and one son).

He enlisted at Hull, on 11/12/1915. Served in the Royal Garrison Artillery. Discharged on 30/01/1919, with Gas Poisoning (70% disability). Awarded the Silver War Badge.

Died at Hull, in 1928, aged 42.
