BORN HARROGATE 1886. ELDEST SON OF JAMES AND ALICE JACKSON, OF 3, ASH GROVE, PARK ROAD, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). A BUGLER IN THE 2ND VOLUNTEER EAST RIDING TERRIRORIALS. AN APPRENTICE WHITE SMITH AT MESSRS. YOUNG AND PECK, JAMESON STREET, HULL.

ENLISTED HULL. SERVED WITH THE 1/4TH NORTHUMBERLAND FUSILIERS. KILLED AT CHEMIN DES DAMES, 27/05/1918, AGED 18. HE HAD ONLY BEEN IN FRANCE FIVE WEEKS. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TOHIS MOTHER, ALICE JACKSON.

HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, WITH HIS PHOTOGRAPH, ON 01/04/1919.
