HE MARRIED AT ST JAMES CHURCH, HULL, ON 23/06/1901. HUSBAND OF ELIZA JANE (HARGREAVES) HARVEY, OF 97 CAMPBELL STREET, HULL (CWGC ADDRESS). THEY ALSO LIVED AT 110 CHILTERN STREET, HULL (1918 ABSENT VOTERS ADDRESS). THEY HAD FIVE CHILDREN. HE WORKED AS AN ENGINE CLEANER.
HE ENLISTED AT HULL, ON 14/11/1914. SERVED AS A SAPPER, IN THE ROYAL ENGINEERS. AWARDED THE GOOD CONDUCT BADGE ON 17/03/1917. SERVED FOR 4 YEARS AND 322 DAYS. DIED OF BRONCHITIS, ON 01/10/1919. AGED 40.
HIS NAME IS RECORDED ON HULL’S WALKER STREET MEMORIAL, THE CITY ENGINEERS MEMORIAL AND THE EAST RIDING ROYAL ENGINEERS MEMORIAL, AT HULL MINSTER.
HE IS BURIED AT HULL’S HEDON ROAD CEMETERY. HIS GRAVE INSCRIPTION, READS, “ONE OF THE BEST GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN FROM WIFE & FAMILY”
