Hayes, Thomas Henry

BORN MANCHESTER, 1881. SON OF THOMAS P & SARAH HAYES, OF 8 CLIFTON TERRACE, BEVERLEY ROAD, HULL.

HIS WIFE ANN HAYES AND ONE SON LIVED 4 ILKLEY VILLAS, ESCOURT STREET, HULL AND 136, ST PAUL STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). THEY HAD ONE SON, JOSEPH THOMAS HAYES (BORN 28/5/1908).

HE WAS FOUNDER OF THE HULL AND BARNSLEY RAILWAY BAND AND WORKED AS A RAILWAY TIME KEEPER & HULL TERRITORIAL BANDSMAN. HE HAD SERVED IN THE EAST RIDING ROYAL GARRISON ARTLLERY FOR 11 YEARS AS A TERRITORIAL. HE WAS TAKEN ILL ON PARADE AND DIED ON 03/10/1914, AGED 34. HE WAS BURIED AT HULL’S HEDON ROAD CEMETERY. HIS DEATH AND PHOTOGRAPH WERE REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL ON 5TH OCTOBER 1914. *
