BORN EAST LEXHAM, NORFOLK 1873. ONLY SON OF EMILY RICHMOND AND MR SWEETING, OF FERRIBY SLUICE, AND WELL KNOWN ON HULL FISH DOCK.

ENLISTED BEVERLEY JULY 1914. WENT TO MANCHESTER AND WAS RECEIVED BY THE KING AND LORD KITCHENER, ON 12/01/1915. HE WAS POSTED TO FRANCE ON 15/01/1915. SERVED WITH THE 2ND EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT AND WAS KILLED AT HILL 60, ON 17/02/1915, AGED 42. HIS NAME WAS RECORDED ON THE ALEXANDRA STREET ROLL OF HONOUR (HDM 23/10/1916).

HIS WIFE ROSE & THREE CHILDREN (ALFRED, ANNIE & EVERLYN) LIVED AT, 1, RICHARD PLACE, ADLEAIDE STREET, HULL; 4, BRIGHTON TERRACE, HOPWOOD STREET, HULL AND 10 VICTORIA TERRACE, LORNE STREET. HIS DEATH AND PHOTOGRAPH WERE PRINTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL ON THE 19TH MARCH 1915. *
