Born Rochdale, Lancashire, 1899. Third Son of Mary Elizabeth Park (1870-1946) and Joseph Richard Heard (1872-1933), of 15, Salisbury Terrace, Nornabell Street, Hull (War Pension address). He had five brothers and two sisters.
He enlisted at Whitehall, London. Formerly Tr/10/89636, Training Reserves. Posted to the 12th Suffolk Regiment. Killed in action, on 28/09/1918, aged 19.
Commemorated on the Tyne Cot Memorial, Belgium. His army effects were left to his mother, Mary.
His eldest brother, Private, William Heard, 2584, 1/4th EYR, was killed in action, on 29/07/1915, aged 18.
One of his younger brothers, Private, Joseph Heard, 7392397, Royal Army Medical Corps, was killed in WW2, on 13/02/1944, aged 37.
