THEY LIVED AT 11 BATE’S TERRACE, WEST PARADE, HULL (1911 CENSUS) AND AT 29 GREEN LANE, HULL (ARMY ADDRESS). HE HAD THREE BROTHERS AND FIVE SISTERS. A FORMER FARM HAND. DESCRIBED AS 5 FOOT, 1 INCH TALL, 105 LBS WEIGHT, 39 INCH CHEST. HE ENLISTED IN HULL, ON 02/12/1916. ARRIVED IN FRANCE, ON 02/12/1916. TRANSFERRED TO THE 19TH DURHAM LIGHT INFANTRY. WOUNDED BY GUNSHOT IN THE RIGHT THIGH ON ON 20/04/1917. DISCHARGED ON 16/05/1917. KILLED IN ACTION, ON 27/05/1918, AGED 24. SERVED IN THE ARMY, FOR 1 YEAR AND 349 DAYS.
