Enlisted: Beverley. Killed in Action: 18th September 1918, aged 33.

“Corporal Sydney Helyard of Beverley, killed. Official news was received on Thursday last from the Record Office, Lichfield, by Mr. & Mrs. Jonas Helyard, 120 Keldgate, Beverley, that their eldest son, Corporal Sydney Helyard, Lincolnshire Regiment, was killed in action on September 18 th. Corporal Helyard (who had been previously wounded) was only 21 years of age and had been at the front over two years and in civil life was in the employ of Messrs Storry and Whitty, Queensgate, Beverley.
