BORN HULL 1893. YOUNGEST SON OF WALTER HILTON (1860-1897) & HENRIETTA BATTY (1862-1919), OF 51, KINGS BENCH STREET, HULL. HE HAD TWO BROTHERS AND A SISTER, DOROTHY. EDUCATED AT HULL GRAMMAR SCHOOL. HE WAS EMPLOYED AS A DRAPER’S APPRENTICE (1911 CENSUS).

HE ENLISTED IN HULL. FORMERLY, PRIVATE, 11643, ROYAL FUSILIERS. TRANSFERRED TO THE TANK CORPS. KILLED IN ACTION, ON 30/09/1918, AGED 25. BURIED AT CAMBRAI CEMETERY, FRANCE.

HIS WAR PENSION WAS LEFT TO HIS SISTER, DOROTHY AT THIS WAR PENSION ADDRESS.

HIS NAME IS RECORDED ON ST MATTHEWS CHURCH WW1 MEMORIAL, BOULEVARD & THE HULL GRAMMAR SCHOOL ROLL OF HONOUR.
