BORN HULL 1894. SON OF WALTER HOBSON (1862-1935) & ELIZABETH MARY HOBSON, OF 1 HASTINGS STREET, BEVERLEY ROAD, HULL (CWGC & WAR PENSION ADDRESS). HE HAD SEVEN BROTHERS AND THREE SISTERS. HIS FATHER WAS A RAILWAY SIGNALMAN FOR NORTH EASTERN RAILWAYS. HE WORKED AS A GLASSBLOWER.
HE ENLISTED IN THE HULL PALS. SERVED IN THE 12TH EYR IN EGYPT AND FRANCE. TAKEN PRISONER. DIED OF WOUNDS, IN GERMANY, ON 12/09/1918, AGED 24. HE IS BURIED IN GERMANY.
HIS BROTHER ERNEST HOBSON, SERVED WITH THE 9TH YORKSHIRE REGIMENT, WAS AWARDED THE MILITARY MEDAL FOR BRAVERY, AND DIED ON 03/10/1918, AGED 20. HE IS BURIED AT PROSPECT HILL CEMETERY, GOUY, AISNE FRANCE.
