HIS WIFE, LIZZIE, LIVED AT 20, RUSSELL PLACE, NORFOLK STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). SHE DIED GIVING BIRTH ON 25/10/1918. THEY WERE BURIED TOGETHER, ON 26/10/1918. THEIR DAUGHTER, LAVINIA SUSANNAH (BORN 10/1/1917), WAS CARED FOR BY MRS SUSANNAH BENNETT, OF 10, BRUNSWICK TERRACE, VICTOR STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION RECORDS)
HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL ON 26TH OCTOBER 1918. HE WAS PICTURED WITH HIS TWO BROTHERS, FREDERICK HOLMES (WOUNDED) AND GEORGE HOLMES SERVING ON MINESWEEPERS (HULL DAILY MAIL 12/08/1915).
