BORN HULL 1890. SON OF HENRY JOHN HORBERRY (1862-1916) & SARAH ELIZABETH WHEELER (1866-1909), OF, 7, RIBBLE STREET, HULL (1901 CENSUS) AND 98 WEST PARADE, HULL (1911 CENSUS). HIS FATHER WAS A WIDOWER, AND ENGINE FITTER. HE HAD FOUR BROTHERS AND FOUR SISTERS. HE WAS A BOTTLE WORKER.
HE ENLISTED IN HULL. POSTED TO FRANCE, ON 13/07/1915. SERVED AS LANCE CORPORAL IN THE 7TH EAST YORKSHIRE BATTALION. KILLED IN ACTION, ON 16/02/1916, AGED 26. HE IS COMMEMORATED ON THE YPRES MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS FATHER, HENRY AND BROTHER, TOM.
