EMPLOYED AS A LABOURER. HE MARRIED ADA MARY COULSON AT HULL IN 1909. HIS WIFE ADA MARY HOULT, OF 2 WAVERLEY PLACE, WAVERLEY STREET, HULL, & 4 HENRY TERRACE, RODNEY STREET, HULL.
HE ENLISTED IN HULL. FORMERLY, PRIVATE, 515 EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. TRANSFERRED TO THE 50TH MACHINE GUN COPRS. DIED OF WOUNDS, ON 10/04/1918, AGED 31. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS WIDOW, WHO MOVED TO 39, WATERLOO STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESSS).
HE IS BURIED AT AIRE COMMUNAL CEMETERY, PAS DE CALAIS, FRANCE. HIS GRAVE INSCRIPTION, READS, “THY PURPOSE LORD WE CANNOT SEE BUT ALL IS WELL THAT’S DONE BY THEE. R.I.P.”
