Bishop Burton WW1 Memorial Plaque

Born Bishop Burton, 1899. Son of William and Martha Hudson, of Bishop Burton, Beverley, Yorkshire. Son of a Woodsman (Estate). He had three brothers. Educated at Bishop Burton Church school.

Hebert Hudson enlisted at Beverley. Formerly, Private, 54774, East Yorkshire Regiment. He transferred to the 2nd Manchesters. He was killed in action, on 20/10/1918, aged 19. Buried in France. His army effects were left to his father, William.

His elder brother, Richard Hudson, served as a Driver, in the Royal Field Artillery, “D” Bty. 95th Bde. Taken ill on the 15/11/1918. He died of pneumonia, on 20/11/1918, at the 19th Casualty Clearing station. Buried at Caudry, France. He was aged 25.
