HIS WIFE ETHEL HUNTER, LIVED AT 12 LOCKWOOD STREET, HULL. HE SERVED IN THE ROYAL NAVAL RESERVE AS SECOND ENGINEER, ON THE TRAWLER “CONDOR”. HE DROWNED, ON 29/05/1915, AGED 25.
HIS BROTHER, REUBEN EYRE HUNTER, ROYAL NAVAL RESERVE, WAS LOST ON THE DRIFTER, “PLANTIN”, ON 26/04/1917, AGED 24.
The trawler Condor struck a mine and sank in the North Sea 30 nautical miles (56 km) north east of Scarborough, Yorkshire with the loss of all nine of her crew.
