Born Howden, East Yorkshire, 1877. Son of John and Mary Ann Ibbetson, of Bubwith, Yorkshire. He had four sisters and one elder brother, Riley.
Married at Hull in 1909. Husband of Susannah Savage, at 8, Fairmount Avenue, De La Pole Avenue, Hull (1911 Census) and 6, Alfred Avenue, Eastbourne Street, Hull (war Pension address). They had one daughter, Florence May. He was a Motor Engineer.
He served in the Royal Tank Corpsm durin WW1. Died at Hull, on 24/03/1924, aged 47
