Born Hull 31 Mar 1888. Son of Richard Ibbetson (1865-1933) and Elizabeth Ibbetson (1868-1939), of 147, Bean Street, Hull (1911 Census), He had two brothers and four sisters. Worked as a Moulder Labourer.
Served as Able Seaman in the Royal Naval Division.
He married Edith Dowd at Hull, in 1919. They lived at 4, Queens Place, William Street, Hull (War Pension address). He died in Hull, on 16/04/1924, aged 35.
His brother, Charles Dawson Ibbetson (1891-1947), served with the 1st East Yorkshire regiment in France, transferred to the Royal Engineers in 1917 and served in Basra.
