Joined the Hull Heavy Battery, Royal Garrison Artillery, in 1914. Went out to German East Africa, in 1915. Died of wounds in the Hull Royal Infirmary, on 20/05/1920. He resided at Adelaide Street, Hull and before the war was connected with the fishing industry. Hull Daily Mail 28 June 1920. *
