BORN BEVERLEY MINSTER, 1882. HE LIVED WITH HIS BROTHER AT 5 VICTORIA TERRACE, BEAN STREET, HULL. EDUCATED AT HULL GRAMMAR SCHOOL.

HE ENLISTED IN HULL. A PROFESSIONAL SOLDIER. SERVED IN ARMY SINCE 1908. FORMERLY, PRIVATE, 2302, OF THE HUSSARS. TRANSFERRED AS CORPORAL, 1737, 2ND WARWICKSHIRE REGIMENT. HE WAS KILLED IN ACTION, ON 04/05/1917.

HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS WIDOW, FREDA ELSIE IVES JACKSON. THEY HAD MARRIED ONLY MONTHS EARLIER IN 1917. SHE MOVED TO 167, HIGH STREET, NEWPORT, ISLE OF WIGHT (WAR PENSION ADDRESS) WITH THEIR SON, ALBERT AFRED JACKSON, BORN ON 05/12/1917.

HIS PHOTOGRAPH WAS PRINTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL ON 16TH AUGUST 1915. *

HIS NAME IS RECORDED ON THE HULL GRAMMAR SCHOOL WW1 MEMORIAL.
HE IS COMMEMORATED AT THE ARRAS MEMORIAL IN FRANCE.
