HE MARRIED ON 24/06/1911. HIS WIFE ,ADA VERITY (1885-1979), LIVED AT 22 , MORRILL STREET, HULL (CWGC ADDRESS). EMPLOYED AS A POSTMAN.

HE ENLISTED IN HULL. SERVED AS A GUNNER IN THE ROYAL GARRISON ARTILLERY. KILLED IN ACTION, ON 01/11/1917, AT YPRES, AGED 32.

BURIED AT LA BRIQUE MILITARY CEMETERY NO.2. HIS GRAVE INSCRIPTION, READS, “THOUGH SUNDERED FAR BY FAITH WE MEET”.

HIS WAR PENSION WENT TO HIS WIDOW, ADA, WHO MOVED TO 8, BELLE VUE, MIDDLEBURG STREET, HULL.
