Jarvis, James Henry

BORN HULL 1890. SON OF JOHN & HARRIET SARAH JARVIS, OF 8, BEECH GROVE, DALTON STREET, HULL (1901 CENSUS ADDRESS) & CHAPMAN STREET, HULL (1911 CENSUS). HE HAD THREE BROTHERS WILLIAM, ERNEST AND WALTER, AND THREE SISTERS, MARY, GERTRUDE AND LILIAN. HE WORKED AS AN OIL MILLER.

HE ENLISTED IN HULL. FPRMERLY, PRIVATE, 5005 EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. TRANSFERRED TO THE 1/5TH KING’S OWN YORKSHIRE LIGHT INFANTRY. KILLED IN ACTION, ON 12/09/1918, AGED 28. COMMEMORATED ON THE VIS-EN-ARTOIS MEMORIAL, FRANCE.

HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS WIDOW VIOLET ALLEN, AT 2, LEVITT’S PLACE, ALICIA STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS).
