BORN HULL 1893. SON OF JOSEPH ANSON JENNISON (1859-1909) & ELIZABETH JANE CANE (1872-1937), AT 3, BENVISTAS AVENUE, WOODCOCK STREET, HULL (CWGC ADDRESS). SON OF A BRICKLAYER’S LABOURER. HE HAD TWO BROTHERS AND FOUR SISTERS. HE WAS IN A REFORMATORY SCHOOL, AT WELBURN, YORKSHIRE (1911 CENSUS).
HE ENLISTED IN HULL. SERVED WITH THE ROYAL ARMY SERVICE CORPS, AS A HORSE DRIVER. HE DIED OF FLU, ON 11/12/1918, AGED 25. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS MOTHER WHO REMARRIED – ELIZABETH MELVIN.
HE IS BURIED AT STE. MARIE CEMETERY, LE HAVRE, FRANCE. HIS GRAVE INSCRIPTION, READS, “HE SLEEPS WITH ENGLAND’S HEROES IN THE WATCHFUL CARE OF GOD”
