BORN HULL 1891. SCULCOATES. SON OF RICHARD & SARAH JEWISON, OF 13 FRED’S TERRACE, ST PAULS STREET, HULL; 3, ST GEORGE’S AVENUE, BOURNEMOUTH STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). HE HAD TWO SISTERS, DAISEY & LILLY. HE WAS A FORMER NORTH EASTERN RAILWAY PLATER. A RESERVIST.
HE WAS CALLED UP ON 04/08/1914 AND JOINED THE COLDSTREAM GUARDS IN FRANCE. POSTEDTO FRANCE, ON 12/08/1914. HE WAS SEVERELY WOUNDED IN BOTH LEGS, HIS FOOT AND ARM, AND DIED OF WOUNDS ON 10/01/1917, AGED 27. HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 16/01/1917.
HIS ARMY EFFECTS AND WAR PENSION WERE LEFT TO HIS WIDOWED MOTHER, SARAH, WHO MOVED TO 2, VIRGINIA CRESCENT, WORTHING STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION RECORDS).
HE IS BURIED AT ST. SEVER CEMETERY EXTENSION, ROUEN, FRANCE.
HE IS COMMEMORATED AT ST MARYS CHURCH, SCULCOATES LANE, HULL
