HE WAS AGED 35. HIS NAME IS LISTED ON THE THE TRINITY HOUSE SCHOOL MEMORIAL. AND ON THE CHILTERN STREET ROLL OF HONOUR.

HMT Orcades, built by Cochrane & Sons, Selby in 1911 and operated at the time of her loss by Royal Navy, was a British navy trawler of 270 tons. On April 14th, 1916, HMT Orcades was sunk by a mine from the German submarine UC-7 (George Haag), off Grimsby. 6 persons were lost.
