Robert Johnson, 1st EYR

Born Hull, 29 Oct 1885. Son of Thomas Laythorpe Johnson (1847-1890) & Eliza Ann Loten (1853-1944), of Hull, Patrington, Withernwick and Skirlaugh. His mother remarried when his father died and became Mrs Pattinson. He had a brother, George Thomas Johnson and half brother, Arthur Pattinson who both served in WW1.

He married at Skirlaugh in 1916. Husband of Alice Tee Johnson (1894-1984), at 45, Holland Street, Holderness Road, Hull (War Pension address). They had one son, Harold Laythorpe Johnson (1919-2004)

A Professional Soldier. He joined the British army on 19/12/1904. Enlisted on Served in the 1st East Yorkshire Regiment. Discharged with sickness on 11/10/1918. Awarded the Silver War Badge (No: B24211).

After the war he served as a Hull Police Constable, living at  (1921 census)

Died at Hull on 12/08/1934, aged 48.
