HE ENLISTED IN HULL, ON 08/12/1915, AGED 25 YEARS AND 10 MONTHS. ARRIVED IN FRANCE ON 12/12/1916. SERVED WITH THE 1ST EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. KILLED IN ACTION, ON 09/04/1917, AGED 28. BURIED AT COJEUL BRITISH CEMETERY, ST. MARTIN-SUR-COJEUL. UNMARRIED. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS MOTHER, SARAH ANN.
HIS OLDER BROTHER, PRIVATE, ARTHUR KEITH, 7TH EYR, WAS KILLED ON 12/10/1917 SIX MONTHS LATER, AGED 31. HIS OTHER BROTHER, WALTER, SERVED IN NORTH RUSSIA. HE LEFT SISTERS, ELSIE AND MABLE KEITH, AT 79 ARUNDEL STREET, HULL.
