EDUCATED AT THE ROYAL MARINES SCHOOL, GOSPORT AND THEN MIDDLETON STREET SCHOOL, HULL. HE WAS UNMARRIED AND EMPLOYED AT A SLATE WORKS. ENLISTED HULL, OCTOBER 1914. SERVED WITH THE BEF IN FRANCE FROM SEPTEMBER 1915. WOUNDED 01/01/1916. DIED OF WOUNDS AT 1ST CANADIAN HOSPITAL, ETAPLES, ON 05/01/1916, AGED 17. HE IS RECORDED WITH HIS PHOTOGRAPH IN THE DE RUVIGNEY ROLL OF HONOUR. HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 11/01/1916. *
