BORN HULL 1879. ONLY SON OF JOHN ROBERT KIDINGHAM (1833-1865) & HANNAH MARY KIDINGHAM (1857-1941), OF 7, JOHNSON BUILDINGS, TREVOR STREET, GREEN LANE, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). SECOND OF TEN CHILDREN. HE HAD NINE SISTERS. WORKED AS A COAL HEAVER.
HIS UNMARRIED WIFE, SOPHIA ANN WHITEHEAD, LIVED AT 9, ELLIS TERRACE, WASSAND STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS).
HE ENLISTED IN HULL. SERVED IN FRANCE, WITH THE 1.4TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. DIED OF WOUNDS, AT ETAPLES HOSPITAL, ON 22/02/1918, AGED 38. HIS SISTER KATHLEEN HAD DIED ON 06/09/1917, AGED 17.
HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS MOTHER, HANNAH. HIS WAR PENSION WENT IN PART, TO HIS PARTNER, SOPHIA ANN WHITEHEAD.
HIS NAME IS RECORDED ON ST CHARLES BORROMEO CHURCH MEMORIAL, JARRATT STREET, HULL.
HE IS BURIED AT ETAPLES MILITARY CEMETERY. HIS GRAVE INSCRIPTION, READS, “I STILL LOVE THEE DEARLY”.
