Christine Barley writes 21/1/2016: William King was my Great Uncle, his full name was Percival William King born 1899, he joined up in 1914 when he was 15, and gave the name William King and his age as 19 on enrollment . He was the half brother of Ellen Matson and had several other half siblings, his Mum had died a couple of years before he joined up. He sent a postcard to the family from Hospital at Netley on the 6th July 1916 and he seems to have been in good spirits, saying he would see them all soon, but six days later he died of Tetanus. He was 17 years old when he died.
