SON OF A COMPOSITOR. HE HAD THREE SISTERS. HE WORKED AS A BOBBIN CARRIERS IN A COTTON SPINNING MILL.
HE ENLISTED IN BEVERLEY. SERVED WITH THE 6TH YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. KILLED IN ACTION, ON 09/10/1917, AGED 20. COMMEMORATED ON THE TYNE COT MEMORIAL, BELGIUM.
