BORN LEEDS, 1887. SON OF GEORGE FREDERICK LANGDALE & ANNE, OF 15, ST JAMES SQUARE, JAMES STREET, HULL.
HE MARRIED AT HULL, IN 1913. HIS WIFE MARGARET ANN BIELBY LIVED AT 14, RHODA’S TERRACE, STRICKLAND STREET AND 11, MINERVA TERRACE, WASSAND STREET, HULL (CWGC ADDRESS). HE WORKED AS A DOCK LABOURER, WHERE HE WAS WELL LIKED.
HE ENLISTED IN HULL, JOINING THE 1/4TH EYR, ON 31/08/1914. ARRIVED IN FRANCE, ON 07/04/1915. RETURNED HOME DUE TO GAS POISONING ON, 13/11/1915. DISCHARGED WITH PLEURISY AND BRONCHITIS, ON 16/02/1916 & DESCRIBED AS OF ‘VERY GOOD’ CHARACTER. HE DIED ON 3/09/1916, AGED 29. BURIED IN A CWGC GRAVE AT HULL WESTERN CEMETERY.
HIS BROTHER, CORPORAL, THOMAS LANGDALE, EYR, WAS REPORTED WOUNDED FOR THE THIRD TIME. (HDM 14/11/1916)
