BORN HULL 1898. SON OF LEONARD LANGRICK (1861-1914) AND ELIZABETH BRANTON (1862-1959), OF 43 ROSE STREET, 7 CORNWALL GARDENS, BRUNSWICK AVENUE, HULL AND 56, SPRING BANK. HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). ONE OF NINE CHILDREN. A FORMER BUTCHER’S LAD.
HE ENLISTED AS PRIVATE 6317, IN THE 3RD EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT, BEFORE WAR BEGAN, ON 18/06/1914, AGED 17 AND 206 DAYS. HE WAS DISCHARGED AS UNDERAGE, AND RE-ENLISTED IN THE ROYAL HORSE ARTILLERY, ON 13/01/1916. DESCRIBED AS 5 FOOT 8 INCHES TALL, 109 LBS WEIGHT, 37 INCH CHEST, GREY EYES, LIGHT BROWN HAIR, A SCAR ON THE BACK OF HIS RIGHT HAND. ARRIVED IN FRANCE, ON 02/06/1916, SERVED AS A GUNNER, AT THE SOMME, IN 1916. WOUNDED ON 02/08/1917. DISCHARGED ON 18/10/1917. HAVING SERVED FOR 1 YEAR AND 285 DAYS. HE DIED OF TUBERCULOSIS. AGED 19. (NO CWGC RECORD). HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 13/11/1919.
