HE ENLISTED IN THE ROYAL NAVY RESERVE. LOST AT SEA, ON 07/02/1917, AGED 39. HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL ON 2ND MARCH 1916 WITH HIS PHOTOGRAPH. *
The “Shakespeare” was British built in 1908 at Earle’s SB and Engineering Co. Ltd. Hull, East Yorkshire, weighing 210 tons. She was operated by Hellier Steam Fishing Co.Ltd. Hull. She was torpedoed by UB22 “Bashard Putzier on 7 February 1917 off the Firth of Forth.
