HE HAD THREE BROTHERS AND TWO SURVIVING SISTERS. EMPLOYED AS A HAIRDRESSER. LIVING AT 46, BACHELOR STREET, HULL (ARMY ADDRESS). DESCRIBED AS 5 FOOT, 9 INCHES TALL, 36-38 INCH CHEST, 154 LBS WEIGHT.
HE ENLISTED IN THE HULL PALS, ON 16/12/1914. TRAINED AT BEVERLEY AND RIPON. SERVED IN “D” COMPANY, 13TH EAST YORKHIRE REGIMENT, IN EGYPT AND FRANCE. REPORTED MISSING AND KILLED IN ACTION, AT SERRE, ON 13TH NOVEMBER 1916. HE HAD SERVED IN THE ARMY FOR 1 YEAR AND 363 DAYS.
