Born Hull, 13/01/1890. Son of HAROLD OSCAR LINFORD (1860-1932) & ELIZA HALL LEE (1859-1920), of 2 Raywell Place Raywell Street, Hull (1911 Census). Son of a ship wright. One of nine children. He had five sisters and three brothers. He worked as a farm Horseman, in North Somercotes, Lincolnshire (1911 Census)
He married Laura Elizabeth Holland/Overton (1889-1967), on 14 August 1911. They had five children during their marriage.
He enlisted in Hull. Served in the 2nd/4th East Yorkshire reserves. He drowned accidentally while trying to save the life of a young boy. Died as a young father on 3 June 1918 in Hamilton, Bermuda, at the age of 28, and was buried in Sunnyside, Hamilton, Bermuda.
His army effects were left to his widow, Laura, who moved to 6 Rendell Street, Grimsby (War Pension address). she was awarded a weekly war pension of 33 shillings and nine pence, on 24/02/1919.
His brother, Harold Oscar Linford (1885-1917), died in Hull, aged 32.
