Hull Pals Memorial Post. PRIVATE ROBERT LINSLEY 10/65. Born in Hull and one of the first volunteers for the then fledgling regiment on 1st September 1914, Robert fought in Egypt and on the Somme before being killed in action on 3rd May 1917 during the fighting for Oppy Wood. His body was never recovered and his name is commemorated on the Arras Memorial.
