MARRIED ON 01/02/1912. HIS WIFE, GERTRUDE ANN ALLHANDS AND FOUR SONS (CHARLES, STANLEY, GEORGE AND JAMES), LIVED AT 21, FLEET STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). TWO OF THE SONS WERE FROM HER FIRST MARRIAGE.
HE ENLISTED IN HULL, ON 11/10/1914. FORMERLY, PRIVATE, 13/1478, EYR. TRANSFERRED TO THE 2/4TH WEST RIDING REGIMENT. DIED OF WOUNDS, ON 29/09/1918, AGED 27. HE IS COMMEMORATED ON THE CAMBRAI MEMORIAL, FRANCE.
