HE MARRIED FLORENCE ANN AGED 17 AND LIVED AT 13 DE GREY TERRACE, RIPON STREET, HULL, WITH THEIR SON, GEORGE. HE WORKED AS A DOCK LABOURER (1911 CENSUS).

HE ENLISTED IN HULL. FORMERLY, PRIVATE, 414 EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. TRANSFERRED TO THE 13TH DURHAM LIGHT INFANTRY. KILLED IN ACTION, ON 11/10/1918, AGED 24. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS MOTHER EMMA.
HE IS COMMEMORATED ON THE VIS-EN-ARTOIS MEMORIAL, FRANCE
