BORN GRAVESEND, KENT 1886. MARRIED AT HULL, IN 1910. HUSBAND OF DORA (NEVIS) LYNCH, LIVED AT- 2 GRANVILLE TERRACE, CHURCHILL STREET, HEDON ROAD, 15 CLARENCE AVENUE, DELHI STREET (WAR PENSION ADDRESS) AND 29 FRODSHAM STREET, MARFLEET, HULL. A FORMER DOCKER.

HE ENLISTED IN HULL. FOUGHT AT MONS AND THE REAR GUARD ACTION WITH THE BRITISH EXPEDITIONARY FORCES.  WOUNDED BY A BULLET IN THE HEAD AT RABELAIS, ON 08/09/1914. DIED OF WOUNDS AT DUNKIRK HOSPITAL, ON 14/10/1915, AGED 30. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS WIDOW, DORA AND DAUGHTER, DORA, BORN ON 17/11/1911.
HE IS COMMEMORATED ON THE MARFLEET ROLL OF HONOUR.

HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL AND LINCOLNSHIRE TIMES, ON 07/11/1914, WITH HIS PHOTOGRAPH. *
BURIED AT BOULOGNE EASTERN CEMETERY, PAS DE CALAIS, FRANCE. HIS GRAVE INSCRIPTION, READS, “FAR AWAY YOU LIE FROM ME, MY LOVE STILL REMAINS FOR THEE, LOVING WIFE”
