Born Barton on Humber, Lincolnshire, 1899. Son of John Lyon (1872-1941) and Bertha Minnie Jacques (1872-1955), of 27, Fleetgate, Barton-on-Humber, Lincs. He worked for the Hull Ideal Boiler Company, National Avue Hull. Enlisted Beverley, served with the 20th Northumberland Fusiliers. Killed in action, on 25/10/1917, aged 19. Commemorated on the Tyne Cot Memorial, Belgium. His army effects were left to his mother, Bertha. he left two sister, Doris and Marie.
