BORN HULL 27/07/1888. SON OF THOMAS WILLIAM MANSELL (1862-1941) & MARY ANN (TAYLOR), OF 30 RYDE STREET, HULL. HE WAS A PAINT MAKER FOR BLUNDELLS BEFORE THE WAR. ALSO A THEATRICAL STAGE MANAGER. DESCRIBED AS 5 FOOT, 7 INCHES TALL, 34-36 INCH CHEST, 115 LBS WEIGHT, CHURCH OF ENGLAND RELIGION.
HE MARRIED AT STANLEY STREET, REGISTRY OFFICE, HULL, ON 14/12/1915. HIS WIFE BESSIE (EVETTS) WAS FROM PATRINGTON AND LIVED AT “LOIDES”, ANLABY PARK ROAD, HULL.
THOMAS MANSELL WAS CALLED UP ON 19/04/1916. POSTED TO FRANCE, ON 18/07/1916. SERVED WITH THE 8TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. KILLED IN ACTION, AT SERRE, ON 13/11/1916, AGED 28. HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL ON 15TH AUGUST 1917, WITH HIS PHOTOGRAPH AND THE HDM ON 13/01/1917.
