Robert Reginald McAdam

Born Holmes Lane, Louth, Lincolnshire, 20/03/1882. Son of David McAdam (1852-1917) and Agnes Jane Halliday (1852-1893).

Married 19/05/1915 at Broomfleet. Husband of May Emmeline Davies, (1885–1968). They had three daughters and lived at 11, Tiger Lane, Beverley (War Pension Address).

He enlisted as Private, 6262, East Yorkshire Regiment, on 12/12/1899. Described as 5 foot, 5 inches tall, 121 lbs weight, 33-36 inch chest, blue eyes, light brown hair, Tattoos on both arms. Served in South Africa, India and the Reserves. Mobilized at Beverley, on 05/08/1914. Promoted to Sergeant. Transferred as a Fitter, in the Royal Field Artillery, on 03/08/1917. Also served in the Royal Horse Artillery.

Discharged as disabled (shell shock), on 29/04/1919. Died in Hull, on 10/10/1921, aged 39. (No CWGC record of his death)

His widow remarried. Became Mrs May Tallick and moved to Birmingham.
