BORN HULL 1891. SON OF THOMAS & EMILY MCDOUGALL OF 12, CHARTERHOUSE LANE, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). HE HAD AN OLDER SISTER JANE AND A YOUNGER BROTHER, WILLIAM.
HE ENLISTED IN HULL. SERVED WITH THE 8TH KINGS OWN SCOTTISH BORDERERS. REPORTED MISSING AT THE BATTLE OF LOOS, ON 22/09/1915. HIS BODY WAS NEVER FOUND. HE WAS UNMARRIED AND AGED 24 WHEN HE DIED. HIS MOTHER EMILY, DIED SHORTLY AFTER IN 1915. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE THEREFORE LEFT TO HIS FATHER, THOMAS AT 12, CHARTERHOUSE LANE, HULL.
HIS BROTHER, WILLIAM WHO LIVED AT 22 PARK VIEW, SCULCOATES LANE, SERVED WITH THE EYR DURING THE WAR AND DIED OF WOUNDS IN 1925.
