Born Glasgow, 1867. Husband of Emma McLean and five children, at 9 Spring Terrace Waterloo Street Hull (1911 Census) and 7 Herbert’s Avenue, Balfour Street, Hull (Pension Address). A former Hull Dock Labourer.
He served in the Royal Naval Reserve, H.M. Trawler “Jay.” . Lost at sea through enemy action, on 11/08/1917, aged 50. His war widow received a weekly 33 shillings and and three pence, on 14 Feb 1918.
