BORN HULL 1880. SON OF MICHAEL McNALLY (1855-1902) & ELLEN BRANNAN, OF 18, GREGORY’S BUILDING, MOXON STREET, HULL AND 24, CAROLINE STREET, HULL (ARMY ADDRESS). SON OF A NIGHT SOIL COLLECTOR. HE WAS ELDEST OF EIGHT CHILDREN ANDWORKED AS A DOCK LABOURER.
HE MARRIED, MARY ANN WELSH, AT HULL. THEY HAD ONE DAUGHTER, MARGARET.
HE ENLISTED IN HULL. SERVED AS CORPORAL, 220003, 10TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. WAS KILLED AT OPPY WOOD ON 3RD MAY 1917, AGED 37. HE IS COMMEMORATED ON THE ARRAS MEMORIAL.
